The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts is Connecticut’s premier theater performance venue. This non-profit organization has a national reputation for its programs in the arts, education and the community.
In 2002,The Bushnell successfully consummated a $45 million expansion of its theater complex and organization with a major brand makeover developed by The Donaldson Group.
BUSINESS CHALLENGE
Design and build a new website that will:
- Feature a more contemporary look and navigation that incorporates the new brand image
- Increase online ticket sales from the current 10% of total sales
- Decrease routine maintenance and revision costs
SOLUTION
The Donaldson Group created a new look and user interface for The Bushnell site, as well as gave them the ability to self publish using an Internet-centric style.
We armed The Bushnell with more in-house, non-technical control of their web content with BluElvis™, The Donaldson Group’s proprietary, leading-edge content management solution (CMS).
- Manages a constantly changing, sophisticated and comprehensive event calendar
- Produces a regular e-newsletter and manages a database of 10,000 members
- Promotes ticket sales and manages online venue information as it changes on a daily basis

- Online ticket purchases soared from less than 10% to over 50% in a year
- Online maintenance costs were eliminated - The Bushnell's PR manager now easily and quickly updates, adds and distributes pages of content without an IT interface or additional costs
